Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs at Gulf Coast Medical Center. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Leads, analyzes, and appraises clinical pharmacy services provided to patients, physicians and ancillary departments within the facility.
- Initiates, analyzes, and reviews monthly and annual reports to include adverse drug reaction reporting to determine compliance with departmental clinical initiatives and value propositions
- Coordinates implementation of clinical initiatives to develop a cohesive environment with consistent direction and goals at the site level.
- Oversees safe and appropriate pharmaceutical care for the patients of the facility by developing and utilizing evidence-based and best-practice protocols. Develops and implements policies and procedures. Promotes and supports safe medication management.
- Shares the responsibility for formulary review, drug use evaluations, therapeutic drug protocols, drug information, and development and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services.
- Shares responsibility for network and departmental publications, educational programs and pharmacy initiatives to promote pharmacy as a respected source of drug therapy information and as a disease management resource.
- Serves as a liaison to Nursing and the Medical Staff and works directly with these groups to meet the needs of the department and the hospital. Serves as a resource for clinical services support at the other network sites.
College Graduate, BS Pharmacy required; PhamD., MBA or MS preferred
3-5 years of hospital manager experience
Hospital Clinical Pharmacy work experience required.
Clinical Coordinator work experience preferred.
Licensed Pharmacist
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Good research and information gathering skills from clinical and other data sources.
