Delivers medically prescribed Occupational Therapy in support of medical care as directed by the primary physician. Works with patients of all ages, race, creed, gender, and disability without bias or prejudice. Utilizes the evaluation of the patient’s rehabilitative needs to plan the care, implement and document effective, appropriate and safe Occupational Therapy treatments. Acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team in helping the patients and their families achieve the highest level of functioning. Supervises and instructs Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehab Techs/Restorative Techs in regard to Occupational Therapy Services. Participates in planning and implementing new services, staff development programs, and marketing efforts. Performs all job duties and tasks in accordance with national and state professional governing guidelines and state practice act, rules, and code of ethics.
A. Bachelor or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. B. Minimum of one year of experience preferred. C. Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Texas. D. Current CPR certification.
